Dancing Home was beautifully presented ! The storytelling from the actors was lighthearted & moving, a story that many individuals can relate to & empathize with. I especially enjoyed being invited to dance (something I love doing !) at the end of the show as a way to celebrate a “new beginning” in rediscovering their culture & identity.
A veeeerrrry well done for everyone in the production of this piece !

This was a wonderful, heart-warming show with gifted Latinx actors. I loved the dancing, the energy and the chemistry between the actors. I highly recommend seeing this show!

A one-act based on the novel by Alma Flor Ada and Gabriel M. Zubizarreta,
it’s an enjoyable, charming show that features some strong work from its cast, who are all young adults, as this is a San Francisco Youth Theater production. Adapted and directing by Dyana Diaz, with choreography by Pablo Jimenez Garcia, I always admire any show at the Fringe that succeeds in being a full theatrical production with scenery, costumes, and an actual ensemble, so in and of itself, the show is a refreshing departure from the solo work that tends to dominate the festival in recent years (and it’s understandable why). The piece is intended for production in schools and it shows by being equal parts enthusiastic and didactic, but there’s a glimmering and hopeful quality which elevates it above that and makes it a unique and gratifying Fringe experience.

Talented, young, multilingual cast of actors, dancers, and singers propel this show that’s relatable to all ages and backgrounds, but particularly to young adults and teens. Deals with the challenges of fitting into a new culture while maintaining ties to one’s origins. Fun and touching without being overly sentimental.

A very sweet and compelling show! The perforners brought so much energy and heart. I laughed, teared up, and even danced at the end.
