Loved the show! The movement, acrobatics, and body expressions were all in service to an emotional and sometimes humorous story about the relationship between a transgender kid and their parent. The space was intimate and made you feel like you were part of the story. Definitely recommend the show and the theater!

What an incredibly beautiful piece of art. The engagement, the skill, the weight of sadness paired with the humor of life. This was so beautiful to witness, I hope everyone gets their chance to witness it too.

A beautiful journey, devoid of speech it relies on the actors presence to communicate their story. Very well done

Box [M] is a love story – the love between a father and a son he struggles to understand – told by two charming, skillful actor/acrobats and almost no words. The audience, myself included, was swept up in the world of the play, which was playful, painful, and always graceful.

Box [M] was a truly wonderful experience, blending body movement and storytelling to explore the trials and tribulations of gender identity within family dynamics. No words are spoken throughout the show, but the expressions and emotions are clear and evident, with lots of symbolism and several elements left open to interpretation. (Thankfully, they held a Q&A afterward to help clarify some of those points) While watching, I kept thinking about friends in the trans community who I believe would really benefit from seeing this, as well as parents of trans children. It’s a truly wonderful story that helps provide a sense of being seen and understood, especially through the judgements of our times.

Box [M] points out through its absence of words – how much words can get in the way of truly understanding another person. The mixed emotions ripped my heart open and I was flooded with joy at their rawness. One of the most moving and achingly beautiful performances I have ever seen.

Amazing. First time seeing an interruptive dance/acrobatic performance art the fringe, but then isn’t that what’s fringe all about. Deeply emotional performance that tells poignant story. Must see.

Without uttering a single word, Box [M]’s acrobatic storytelling shows the dangers of locking people into rigid gender and cultural boxes and the joy in breaking away from them. Cool stuff

Box [M] is a beautiful show that seamlessly weaves dance, acrobatics, and storytelling. Box [M] wrestles with difficult themes in a sensitive way, inviting the audience to experience it through our personal lens. With humor, nostalgia, heartbreak, and victories, this show takes the audience on a full emotional journey that always feels genuine. Congratulations to the artists for this exceptional piece!

“… designed to present a positive narrative on the trans experience, but it doesn’t have to read that way; the emotions are expressed so beautifully that it can be about anything that might come between a parent and child […] It’s a testament to how well-crafted this show is that it can be so specific and yet feel so universal at the same time.”

“Orlando Fringe has hosted its fair share of both world-class circus acts and transgender tales, but no show in recent memory has managed to merge the two genres quite like Box [M] … The show integrates jaw-dropping gymnastics and interpretive dance with a genuinely emotional throughline… Be sure to open this box for stellar circus arts, and something deeper.”

Review of Box [M] from FringeReview

“Name me another show that explores the intersection of trans-masc identity and Japanese-American culture through acrobatics. I sincerely doubt there is any show that does, nor as beautiful and impactful as Box [M]…  This work is of such high quality, profoundness, and craft, it stands alongside the established fringe acrobatics with ease. Endo and Roxas have their own unique voice to share and are a fresh addition to the movement theatre world. This is unbridled queer joy explored with heart and humor… These are artists who must be watched. This is theatre pushing forward for trans representation on stage. Incredible.”
