Intriguing and mysterious. So many secrets unfolding in this well played noirish production

Oh, Johnny! was a great show — hilarious from the start to the finish. I enjoyed the audience participation as well as the character Gildana.

Fascinating, if a bit weird, story of a lost love performed by a very talented clown, dancer, and psychic all rolled up into one. A very beguiling and clever use of audience participation.

Gildana instantly drew me in. I was ready to follow her wherever she went. Sure, there may have been a few red (or in her case pink and purple) flags but I wanted to see what happened. There aren’t many dames with that combination of charm and wit. Utterly captivating hour.

So enjoyed the charlatan shenanigans of Oh, Johnny! Funny, flavorful and dangerously engaging. Would see it again. Next time, ¡en español!

The title character in Oh Johnny is dead. His former partner, on stage and in bed, might also be his killer. She is very much alive, and completely charming. The third point in this love triangle is an audience volunteer and the main action is an exorcism. Enough said – this 30’s thriller come to life with much magic is a must see!

Molly’s precision with tiny character mannerisms, quirks, sleight of hand, and audience wrangling rounded out an already hilarious clown show.

“Oh Johnny!” A one person show by Molly Shannon has two more shows this Saturday at 5:00 PM and Sunday at 12:30 PM. This loopy send up of film noir films and questionable “psychics” is delightful from start to finish. This is the eccentric story of a lovesick medium and her search for another partner “victim?” for her mind and tarot/reading act. Is she or isn’t she a killer? These and other dilemmas will be revealed in this lively romp through a bygone genre. You have two more chances to align your karma with the universe! If I were you I would run, not walk to the Taylor Street Theater!

“Oh Johnny” is a cunning and charming mash-up of “Nightmare Alley,” “Gilda,” and nimble, laugh-out-loud clowning. Molly Shannon’s portrayal of a love-sick, phony medium who just may have pushed her philandering partner off the platform at the train station…”it was so foggy that night…,” and is now working a solo act with a cigarette smoking skull, is a complete delight.
