Brutally honest accounts from Christina Aanestad and Algiin Ford’s that did not hold back on the violence they inflicted or witnessed.

There were tender moments that had me sobbing. Gut punches, body blows and sorrow at the vicious words delivered in an attempt to silence questions and put people in their place.

Christina and Algiin at moments were matter of fact while telling their stories which opened up room for the audience to feel their own feelings.

I left even more committed to the importance of not leaving parts of a story out that might make someone else feel uncomfortable. Hearing Christina and Algiin share those walled off parts of themselves and their lives was profound and powerful.

What a delight to hear these stories, especially since these are not stories that are often told. Both of the actors are truly inspiring in their own ways and I am thankful that they let us into their world.

Both performers put on engaging & interesting shows, though Algiin Ford was an especially great actor. The control that he has over his emotions and physicality made it hard to tear your eyes away from him.

I found this presentation utterly compelling. Both performers provided viivid accounts of their pasts. I was emotionally drawn in to their stories, hearing of their troubles effected me deeply. Bravo

These personal stories are so moving and real. Such courage, to share the transformation of lives through the magic of theater. This is a time in our country when people are so divided. If we have a chance to celebrate our shared humanity, please, let’s take it.

two brave performers digging into their dark, troubled pasts and finding their different ways out is truly inspiring. there’s uncanny self-awareness and deep self-reflection, there’s anger and guilt, there’s humor and tragedy, there’s brutality, and above all, there’s love. at a time when we need inspiration, here is where you’ll find it.
