EXIT Theatre is proud to present the forty-sixth night of Fever! Join us on May 13, 2017 for Saturday Write Fever XXXXVI: The Mother of All Fevers!
Every second Saturday of the month, we invite writers, actors, directors, theater creators, and theater audiences alike for a free evening of quick script-making and flash-fried performance! In celebration of Your Mom, May’s Saturday Write Fever will be the Mother of All Fevers! That’s right, come one, come all to celebrate Mother’s Day by writing or performing a “mom”-ologue (sorry not sorry) dedicated to the woman who made it all happen for you. Make her proud for driving you to all those theater rehearsals and sitting through your seventh grade Shakespeare renditions.
It all takes place in the EXIT Cafe. Registration is 8:30pm-8:50pm, followed by a 9:00pm writing sprint where writers have 30 minutes (more or less) to script original monologues based around that night’s pre-generated prompts. We cast actors from the crowd (no experience necessary) and then, at 9:30pm, they perform the work onstage for an on-the-spot, one-night-only, instant festival! Come join in the communal creativity, either as writer, performer, or audience!
Hosted this month by Megan Cohen and Will Glad, (swapping into a host rotation that includes Sam Bertken, Stuart Bousel, Andrew Chung, Heather Shaw, and Jeunée Simon), admission to this event is free, and the Café is open and staffed so you can purchase drinks and snacks all night long! No need for reservations, though be there from 8:30pm-8:50pm to get your name on the writer-list, which caps at 16. And, if we have 16 writers, we’ll also need 16 actors so come early and let us know you want to play!
