Judd 'Sins' again
SF Chroncle May 30, 2008 (Robert Hurwitt)

James Judd's autobiographical comic solo "7 Sins" has turned out to be more popular than he expected on the San Francisco native's return visit to his hometown. Having sold out a seven-week spring run at Theatre Rhinoceros' downstairs studio, Judd is bringing it back for an Exit Theatre reprise, starting tonight. He has to close June 21, he says via e-mail, to head east for other gigs, culminating in the Edinburgh Festival - then he looks forward to sinning off-Broadway.
The EXIT has become the place for underground hits to find added life these days. Dan Wilson's delightful " 'Sweetie' Tanya: The Demon Barista of Valencia Street" just closed its reprise run there last weekend, and Foul Play is bringing its popular "Attack of the Killer B-Movies: Live!" - parodies of "The Blob," "The Birds," "The Bad Seed" - to the Exit from June 13 to 22. Exit Artistic Director Christina Augello co-stars with author Sean Owens in "Her Majesty," returned from its New York run, July 11-19.
As for "Sins," Judd reports to be gratefully surprised by how quickly tickets ($14-$20) for the Exit run are selling out, aided by half-price ticketing for advance sales at www.goldstar.com or www.sffringe.org. - Robert Hurwitt
