Just accross the hall from Weiner's show (Give Me Shelter), Harold Pinter's classic about strange roommates kicks off the EXIT's Year 2000 Absurdist Series. The play that launched a thousand pauses is directed by Jason Ries and stars Jesse Caldwell, John Ficarra, and Neil Howard. Forty years after its London premiere, Pinter's dark vision of nameless menace and incomplete sentences still holds up -- and for those who only know him from his recent film appearance as the patriarch in Mansfield Park, this production should be a suitable introduction to the man who gave the world the adjective "Pinteresque."
