"I was entranced...Shapiro conspired to make the entire audience fall at her feet...a masterful, sweetly-scathing performer." - Chloe Veltman of SF Weekly
Legs shoot out from a box, dinner times turn to drum brigades, and fights turn to tango dancing. This, paired with live original music by classical percussionist Brandi Brandes and sound-scapes by Jeremy Shapiro, peaks at human loneliness, roots in physical comedy, and hits up against reality's glass ceiling to poke about in the breathing space beyond. The world premiere of Legs And All takes a magical look at the mundane. In a world looking similar to ours two people stumble into the extraordinary.

Summer Shapiro - Creator/Performer
Summer Shapiro, a San Francisco Clown Conservatory graduate and current Climate Theater resident artist, in the last year has written and performed three original physical comedy shows touring to San Francisco, Hawaii and New York. July 2008 she premiered her original solo show In The Boudoir at the Climate Theater sharing the bill with Cirque Du Soleil veteran, John Gilkey, and continuing on to headline with it at the WOW Festival in 2009. Her clown show with April Wagner, PANTS! The Best Show Ever, sold out in SF and in the New York Clown Theater Festival 2008. Summer was in a trapeze clown duo in Angry Gods and Lost Marbles, by Paoli Lacy showcasing at the Magic Theater in October, 2007. Summer was a performer and core company member in The Medea Project: Theatre For Incarcerated Women, directed by Rhodessa Jones in 2006. Summer has trained, performed, and taught performance in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Ireland. She holds a BA in acting from UCLA's School of Theater. Summer is grateful to be creating this bi-coastal production and world premiere of "Legs And All" with some of the most inspiring artists she's experienced, for this years SF Fringe!

Peter Musante - Co-creator/Performer
Peter Musante is a Brooklyn-based actor/musician currently performing Off-Broadway in Blue Man Group. As a Blue Man, he's worked in Chicago, Boston, Orlando, Bogota, Colombia and can be seen in ad campaigns all over Vegas and Brazil. Out of blue, he has taught improv to kids, improvised in drag at Universal Studios Hollywood, crooned cowboy tunes in Tokyo, worked as a standardized patient for medical students and, most recently, developed workshops for children with autism. After graduating from UCLA's School of Theater in 2005, he played Huck Finn in Big River at Vista, CA's Moonlight Amphitheater and won the San Diego Theater Critic's Circle Award for Best Actor in a Musical. A SF Bay Area native, Peter's earliest memories are of watching his mother, now a respected arts educator, perform with her original improvisational theater group Flash Family at Ft. Mason. At the moment, he's ecstatic to be back at home working with his long-time playmate and creative hero Summer Shapiro for this year's SF Fringe!

Brandi Brandes - Composer/Musician
Brandi Brandes is a multi-disciplinary percussionist, keyboardist, vocalist, composer and resident artist of the Climate Theater in San Francisco. She studied with San Francisco Ballet principle percussionist David Rosenthal, Machete Ensemble composer, and arranger John Calloway. Brandi's musical foundation is in theater and competitive marching band, evolving with her involvement in diverse ensembles of San Francisco in Punk Rock Orchestra, Garnada Arabic and Flamenco Quintet, Rennea y Sus Amigos salsa and Venezuelan folk music ensemble, The SFSU AfroCuban ensemble, and the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony. Original theater compositions include City Circus' Kamikaze Heart, Brava Theater; Tim Barsky's 7 Beggars; work-shopping with Summer Shapiro's Legs and All at the Climate Theater; and Territories at the Magic Theater. Theater orchestra credits include Tommy, West Side Story, The Wiz, and she is a regular stage band member for SF's award-winning sketch comedy troupe Killing My Lobster. Brandi holds a Bachelor's in music with World Music emphasis from San Francisco State University.

Jeremy Shapiro - Electronic Music/Sound designer
Jeremy Shapiro has written, recorded, and performed with bands Crank Up Your Hearing Aid and The Droids You're Looking For. He has produced his original electronic music for 8 years while training in guitar with Emmy Award Winner John Lewis, as well as at the Community Music Center in San Francisco, and on the drums with Jason Willard, San Francisco. Jeremy is designing sound-scapes and complementary recorded music with Brandi Brandes' live compositions for the world premiere of "Legs And All".
