At least I could see the 10 year old that still lives in Steven Henegar and feel the 10 year old in myself as he wove his tales of growing up in Oklahoma. This is someone who obviously has long experience in crafting and telling stories and his energy moves the show along at a rapid clip , just what you'd expect from someone living next to the air force base and playing at being a jet pilot which was as accepted and real as the on going "duck and cover" exercises at school. Definitely worth catching this enjoyable show. Play: Embarrassment and Death Reviewer: Lois 4 Stars Brilliant and fascinating monologue about the actor's childhood in the 50's (?). He really captured the spirit and mannerisms of 10 year-old boys. At first I was concerned it was going to be an hour of some old dude reminiscing about his childhood, which might turn off a 20 or 30-something year- old crowd, but his delivery was so entertaining, it was timeless. If you enjoy seeing extremely talented monologists, check out this show. Play: Embarassment and Death Reviewer: Erica Lann-Cl;ark 5 Stars A finely crafted view of what it's like to grow up a boy in the midwest. The events of hid story dovetail into each other seamlessly anmd Henegar's style is warm, downhome. I left feeling like I'd grown up next door to him. I was reminded how there's no dearth of embarrassments or death, even in childhood. This original piece is well worth seeing!
